impressive pedigree

I'm so jealous.

Paul Matisse (born 1933) is an artist and inventor.
In 1954, Matisse graduated from Harvard,[1] where he once lived in Eliot House with Stephen Joyce, grandson of James Joyce, and Sadruddin Aga Khan, a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad

From 1977 to 1979 he helped Alexander Calder enlarge a sculpture for the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.

He currently resides in a former Baptist church in Groton, Massachusetts. He is the stepson of artist Marcel Duchamp and grandson of French painter Henri Matisse.[2]

Lucky duck!

wow. xanga looks really different.  I don't have a job yet, but I'm still looking pretty much everywhere.
In my free time I'm doing CEC stuff or baking or reading or watching TV. I've made a lot of cookies, cakes, cupcakes. And I'm going to pick up cross stitching next. This is the perfect time to learn a lot of sort-of-useful skills. But I want a stand mixer.

I'm bored. I miss school. I miss learning (hence... learning to cross stitch now. I will embroider EVERYTHING) and class and midterms and college. at least i'm still in westwood.

Oh I should tell you about the rat. I came back over winter break to my apartment because I was out here with leslie and jojo and they were going to sleep on part of my roommates bed. (She has two twin mattresses, side-by-side on the floor. I stacked mine on top of each other.) So I'm moving some stuff around and I see some black stuff, and I lean closer- it looks like lint? ... or food pellets? NO IT'S POO. I start freaking out and lift the blanket and WTF THERE IS POO UNDER THE BLANKET. and then ahhhhhh I notice my roommate's closet door is open and OMG THERE'S POO THERE TOO. So I check out the living room so that they can sleep there and OMG THERE IS POO THERE TOO!?!?!?!! Jojo slept with me and Leslie slept on the couch that did not have poo on it.

It was terrible. Luckily my bed is too high and my closet door was closed- I had one poo on my side.
I left John a note freaking out. And he set traps and caught it. IT WAS GIGANTIC.
Okay so you know the rectangle shaped light switch? put one on top of the other and that's the body of the rat, then add a long tail. ta-da. That thing was living, eating and pooping in my room. So gross.
No idea how it got in either because I'm on the third floor and everything was closed. dum dum dum....

playing catch up last week and this week.

oogf. so sleepy- i've been reading/watching babies. They're so amazing! humans are amazing! the visual system is amazing. I don't know why my cog sci class goes more in depth about brain function/structure then my neuropsych class did. Doesn't really make sense?

I love my cog sci professor. He has this very dry, sarcastic, self-depreciating wit. And plus he explains things well when there is enough time.

I am saving up for a black macbook right now. so much moneyyyyy
but I'm getting paid next month. yes! I do live paycheck-to-paycheck.

Not sure if I'm doing anything for halloween as it is on a wednesday and in the middle of my midterms.

lab groups suck. I... ... don't even know what to say because there are so many things wrong with them. They're trying to make it 10x more complicated then it needs to be and are convinced, until the TA tells them otherwise, that they need variable X or to do 2 DV's. My lab feels like high school because we have busy work. And we have to work in groups. and we haven't learned anything new yet. it's just 100b review.
